Skyline Open Studio

In this class, students concentrate on independent projects of their choice. They work under contract with the instructor and are evaluated according to the quality of the final product and the amount of effort in executing each project in class. Students will need knowledge of basic skills in drawing and painting with printmaking an option. Students will be expected.to work independently in an unstructured studio atmosphere. The teacher will work with students toward individualizing stylization.  This course emphasizes traditional and nontraditional painting and drawing skills and how to express personal concepts through them. We will address the articulate use of visual language, focusing on the formal visual elements and principles as well as postmodern principles; philosophical issues, response to the world around us; global issues, interior life, and personal history.
